The Art Bash in Berkley is a renowned event that draws in around 10,000 people. It features a parade of new car models and local vendors offering products and art from all over Michigan. The city also has great stores, like the Oakland Mall and the exclusive Sommerset Collection Mall with 180 stores.
The picturesque city has many events throughout the year in the town square, such as summer concerts, farmers markets, Christmas and winter events, including a chili cooking contest. The North Fair Art House hosts art fairs. In 1919, Henry Ford purchased a plant in Northville as part of his vision to decentralize his plants. Grosse Pointe Shores is one of the wealthiest cities in Michigan and is situated on Lake Claire, just 15 miles northeast of Detroit.
It has the longest shoreline of all the Grosse Pointe communities and offers plenty of activities for families, such as restaurants, shops, river trips, parks and the waterfront. As per Bloomberg's rankings of American cities, Bloomfield Hills is one of the wealthiest communities in Michigan and is among the top 20 richest cities in the Midwest. West Bloomfield is also considered one of the richest cities in Michigan and is one of the most expensive places to live in Oakland County.
